Description:

Fragments of leaf blades and petioles of various shapes. Color ranges from light green to brownish-green, with brown, white, yellowish-white, and occasional purple speckles. Odor is faint. The taste of the aqueous extract is slightly bitter. Contains mucilage, tannins, flavonoids, ascorbic acid, carotene, and other biologically active substances.

Greater plantain leaves.

Indications for use:

Used as an expectorant as part of combination therapy for respiratory tract disorders (bronchitis, tracheitis).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to plantain preparations, hypersecretion of gastric juice, hyperacid gastritis, and gastric or duodenal ulcers during an exacerbation.
